BABI's COVID-19 Mission

The safety and mental health first Aid of our citizens is very important. Sharing holistic cultural awareness to the community to assist with the public health crisis. The acknowledgement and remembrance of victims of COVID-19 in Macon County and the world. 

Assisting in developing supportive and Authentic Collaborative Communication between all task forces and COVID-19 related activities from local community citizens, Tuskegee University, local government, churches, and community organizations along with the help of the youths guiding us through social media.  

The BABI PROGRAM was born out of the increasing concern of Mrs. Lennora Mutiah Pierrot, a mother of eight who took a particular interest in the mental, physical, and spiritual health and well-being of new and young mothers. Mrs. Pierrot’s desire to share her life experience and knowledge of pregnancy, labor, parenting, and good nutrition lead her to form Bibs and Blankets International, Inc. (BABI), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose founding goal was to effect positive change for young women and girls by providing them with the mental, physical, and spiritual resources they need while promoting healthy lifestyle choices.

BABI's services have now expanded to focus on community health promotion, education, health advocacy, and building capacity for high quality, culturally sensitive, and linguistically appropriate access and prevention services that lead to better health outcomes for minorities and the larger community.
